New Beginnings: Your Comfortable Newborn Session

This awe-inspiring, beautiful phase of life is fleeting, which is why a relaxed, comfortable, and natural newborn photo session is essential. As your Seattle Newborn Photographer, I strive to capture the spirit of your family during this precious time, ensuring the session flows according to your and your baby's pace. Need a moment for feeding or a diaper change? No worries. Concerned about your older child's behavior? Fear not. They are a significant part of your baby’s story, and all emotions are absolutely welcomed. Each spontaneous moment, no matter how small, is a sweet memory of this short yet significant phase of life

What Seattle Parents Are Saying

What Seattle Parents Are Saying

“I felt very relaxed even though you were in my home. We don't have people over much. I loved the way you engaged with my baby and how eager you were to get the "real" moments-even my dog. Loved seeing her surprisingly in the mix. We have very few photos of her because she won't sit still and look at the camera.”

FAQ

When should I book my newborn session?

If you are hoping to capture your sweet babe when they are brand new, book as soon as you can. I typically schedule for two weeks after your due date, realizing babe may come earlier or you may want a few days later. My weekdays are flexible to reschedule as we know more. My sessions are very go with the flow and don't require a super sleepy baby, so if you are just feeling up for photos at 4-6 weeks, we can still capture that special newborn love.

Can Our pet participate?

Absolutely! Whether your pet joins for a few key photos at the beginning or the end, or you would like them to be present during the whole session is really up to you. Pets are family!
If you have a pet and don't feel like bringing them for photos, that's ok too!

What if my older child(ren) is not cooperating?

Children can be so unpredictable. I find moments like these all a part of the process. It is actually in many of these moments that we can see our true connections, love, and emotions shine through. Do what you might usually do and embrace the beauty of the situation. Maybe we let a squirmy child jump it out or run around with a quick game of tag. Maybe you spend time feeding or shushing and rocking your newborn. It's all a part of the story and beauty in this phase of life and deserves to be documented too.

Are other family members able to be included?

If you already have a grandparent or two or your best friend is visiting from out of town, I am more than happy to include them. If you are looking for more of an extended family session that includes formal portraits, I am happy to include everyone as part of the Get Out of the Grey package (full gallery of over 80 images).

Do you offer a Maternity + Newborn package?

Yes! If you book a maternity and newborn session packages together, you receive a $100 discount. If you are also interested in documenting babies first year or 100th day celebration, you may be interested in a Year in the Life package, which includes beautiful prints and a gorgeous heirloom album.
